Job description

We are seeking a Shopper Marketing Manager with a strong retail background to lead in creating exceptional in-store customer journeys. This role is focused on enhancing the shopper experience, driving engagement, and delivering innovative solutions that align with retail goals and maximise customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Shopper-Centric Strategy

  • Develop and implement shopper-focused strategies that prioritize exceptional in-store experiences and align with retail objectives.
  • Leverage customer insights to design journeys that enhance the shopper experience at every touchpoint.
  • Create campaigns and initiatives that drive footfall, increase basket size, and encourage repeat visits.

Customer Experience & In-Store Activation

  • Lead in-store marketing efforts, including point-of-sale materials, signage, promotions, and displays, ensuring they engage and inspire shoppers.
  • Collaborate with store teams to optimize the physical layout and flow, making it easier and more enjoyable for customers to shop.
  • Work closely with store operations to ensure seamless execution of shopper initiatives.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with category managers, buying teams, and store teams to deliver impactful shopper-focused campaigns.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and suppliers to ensure quality and innovation in shopper marketing materials.
  • Align with the digital and e-commerce teams to ensure an omnichannel approach to the shopper journey.

Insights & Analytics

  • Use shopper data and feedback to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular reviews of in-store performance, including campaign success, footfall patterns, and customer behaviour.
  • Create actionable insights to inform decision-making and tailor future strategies.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to maximize ROI on shopper-focused initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance against key metrics.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in shopper marketing or customer experience within the retail sector is essential.
  • Deep understanding of in-store shopper behaviour, retail operations, and trends influencing customer decisions.
  • Expertise in creating and implementing in-store marketing campaigns that improve the overall shopper experience.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset, with experience in using data and insights to refine strategies and optimize results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • A creative approach to problem-solving and designing impactful shopper experiences.
