Terms of Use Agreement

Thank you for accessing Alternatives online.

Please read through Alternatives Terms of Use below carefully and note that by accessing any part of the Alternatives website and/ or registering with us, you agree to be bound by them in full. We would respectfully ask that you leave the site if you don’t accept them fully. Note also that Alternatives may modify these terms from time to time and you will be deemed to have accepted them when you access and use this site. These Terms of Use are in addition to and not in substitution for our standard Terms of Business and our standard candidate contract terms.

Use of our Website

You can access most of the website to access information on roles, the market, blogs, our services etc. without registering with us or logging into your candidate account. By using our site, you agree that you will not:

  • submit any inaccurate or false information about yourself.
  • breach copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • use any software or materials that contain viruses to interfere with the operation of the site.
  • post any materials that are abusive, defame or could be considered a criminal offence. 

Alternatives will have sole discretion and will retain the right to remove any materials considered objectionable or questionable with immediate effect.

Registering with us as a candidate

Your CV / personal data are required in order for you to be considered for potential recruitment, contracting and consulting opportunities, and to enable our specialist team judge your suitability for current and future opportunities. (Please see our privacy policy for further information.)

To submit your details we require you to register in the candidate log in area. In this process you will be asked to read and provide consent to our privacy policy and to receiving our occasional communications.

You will need to create a candidate user name and password, which should be kept confidential by you at all times. We accept no liability for the unauthorised use or disclosure of your password and you remain liable for all activities that occur under your name.

You acknowledge that all of the data you submit is disclosed voluntarily and that you can access and update it as required.

You should not use Alternatives candidate portal as the only source for storing your CV as we take no responsibility for the reconstruction of any CV or data associated with same.   

Availability of website/ candidate area:

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or working without error at all times. We may also need to take the website down for maintenance or upgrades, but in all cases we will do our best to ensure smooth operations in as far as possible.

Termination of candidate accounts

We retain the right to terminate user accounts with immediate effect and without notification or explanation.

Aggregate data

We gather collective data and statistics about all visitors to the Alternatives website. This may include the data supplied by you. We do not disclose individual names or information and all data will be in aggregate form only. See our privacy policy also for more information.

Warranties/ Liabilities–Live roles

It is our absolute policy that all roles on our website are live roles, unless otherwise stated- eg in the case of watching briefs for clients. However we do not guarantee that every role on our website is still open for candidate submissions but will remedy as soon as our attention is brought to same.

Warranties/ Liabilities – Meeting and finding you a role

We are a specialist boutique house, rather than a volume recruiter. We have a select number of opportunities at any time and receive many requests to be met and to be considered for opportunities and interview. Our role is often to prioritise and screen as our time and client needs dictate. 

As a result we provide no warranty or guarantee that we can do any of the following: Meet with you; submit your details to a client for a role even if requested by you; secure you an interview; successfully find you a role; find you specific terms of employment. You waive any claims against us as a result of loss or damage that you may suffer in respect of same.

We cannot guarantee that a client, to whom we have submitted your details in confidence, will keep your data or submission confidential. It is also recognised by you that clients have other contacts and routes to information. We do however communicate to clients the importance of complete confidentiality at all times and endeavour to ensure it is respected. You waive any claims against us as a result of loss or damage that you may suffer in respect of same.

Warranties/ Liabilities - Information on our Website & Downloaded materials

No liability is accepted for any loss or damage which may arise out of any person relying on or using any information on or downloaded from this website.

We publish information on this site in good faith. Although we have made every effort to ensure our information is current and accurate, we do not guarantee that information in documents is free from omission or error and we take no responsibility for the accuracy of data, salaries & benefits, opinions, or services outlined. Alternatives are not liable for any loss or damage relating to any decisions made by you based on the materials or information provided or opinions expressed on the Alternatives website. 

We make every endeavour, but do not guarantee that all materials downloaded from our site are free from viruses or similar. You are responsible for ensuring the safety of materials downloaded.

Where Alternatives provides an introduction of a candidate for any type of service, our terms and conditions apply.

Governing law

These terms of use shall be governed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland and the Irish courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of the use of this website.
