Senior Qualitative Researcher
Are you a behavioural researcher who is passionate about driving meaningful change through evidence-based insights?
We are partnering with a government agency leading Ireland’s energy transition to recruit a Senior Qualitative Researcher for their Behavioural Economics Unit.
In this role, you will deliver high-impact research projects that inform public policy, support sustainable behaviour change, and help shape national programmes around energy efficiency, climate action, and sustainability.

Competitive salary on offer, this role is being offered on an 18-month contract basis, hybrid working with 2 days on site in Dublin 2.

Day to day duties -
- Lead qualitative research projects exploring public attitudes and behaviours toward energy and climate initiatives.
- Apply a wide range of qualitative methods such as interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations to inform government policy and programme design.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to building qualitative capability within the organisation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, policy stakeholders, and external partners to deliver evidence-based solutions.
- Communicate findings clearly through reports, presentations, and publications.
Requirements -
- A postgraduate qualification (Level 9 or higher) in a relevant discipline such as Psychology, Sociology, Behavioural Science, or Economics.
- At least 4 years' experience in research, with strong expertise in qualitative methods.
- A solid understanding of behavioural science and how it can influence policy and programme outcomes.
- Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A working knowledge of quantitative methods and tools is an advantage.
